At Sessions Elementary School, we believe that every day counts. Regular attendance is essential for students to build academic skills, form strong relationships, and develop positive school habits. Missing just a few days here and there can add up—and can make it harder for your child to keep up.
Learning is sequential. Each day builds on the day before. Frequent absences can lead to gaps in understanding.
Children thrive on routine. Being present every day helps establish a consistent and positive school experience.
Attendance shapes future success. Good attendance habits in elementary school lay the groundwork for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.
Being on time sets the tone for the day! Our school day begins promptly at 7:45 AM every day. Students arriving after 7:50 AM are considered tardy. Early pick-ups also count toward lost instructional time.
We want to keep everyone healthy. Please see here for more information:
If your child is chronically absent due to the same illness or you're concerned about ongoing symptoms, please contact Nurse Madison or your Primary Care Provider. It’s important to ensure your child is receiving the appropriate care and support—both at school and through medical evaluation if needed.
Please note: If your child is absent for three or more consecutive days due to the same illness, we will request that they be seen by a physician and return with a medical note. This helps us support your child’s health and ensure a safe environment for all students.
Support is Available
We understand that there may be challenges that make daily attendance difficult. Whether it’s transportation, health concerns, or family circumstances—we’re here to help.
