Club Fair at Hoover - Guided research of the event. How do clubs promote themselves? What works well for grabbing your attention? What works well for keeping your attention?
Classroom visit with Brianna/ASB - What goes into planning and organizing a club fair? After seeing the Club Fair, ASB students will teach the other students how they planned, advertised, and hosted the event.
In this project you will get to explore the community resources that and work with a team to market the community resource you are most passionate about. There will be an app component where you will gamify the resource and a website component to organize the resources into a central hub.
Market your choice through a commercial. One of the most common medium for marketing is through those 30 second ads on TV and YouTube. Working with the Video Production class you will create a commercial for a community resource that will air on the NEST!
Creating a digital map of the physical locations of the community resources available in City-Heights
Writing and reading can be powerful tools for raising awareness and informing others about a cause. Get an introduction to ethical hacking and how tech plays a role in socio-economic factors through the novel Ready Player One. Students will research and analyze primary source Civil Rights documents, read excerpts of How I Resist: Activism and Hope for a New Generation "Media Consciousness as Part of Resistance!" These texts, coupled with rhetorical analysis and writing situation practice will enable our students to create meaningful infographics and vlogs to enact real change.
