Welcome to the CLIMB Program and EWE- Exploratory Work Experience at Mt. Everest Academy!
Exploratory Work Experience (EWE) is a high school career-readiness course that helps students explore career pathways, develop professional skills, and gain experience in real-world workplace settings. Students take on the role of emerging professionals as they identify their interests, strengths, and career goals while learning how to communicate, collaborate, solve problems, and demonstrate responsibility in the workplace. Through career research, guest speakers, informational interviews, job-shadowing opportunities, and hands-on projects, students investigate a variety of industries and career options.
Students create professional materials such as a resume, cover letter, career portfolio, elevator pitch, and LinkedIn profile or digital career profile. They also practice interviewing, workplace communication, networking, time management, and professional etiquette. The course may include opportunities for students to complete a job shadow, volunteer experience, mentorship, or internship connected to their career interests. The course emphasizes self-awareness, employability skills, professionalism, and career planning, preparing students for future employment, college, internships, and career-technical education pathways.
