Mr. Johnson
Tyler Johnson is the Director of Music at Madison High School. As the director, Mr. Johnson teaches the Band, Orchestra, and Music Composition programs. He has a strong passion for music and for creating a safe and inviting space for students to explore their own identity. Music and the arts are essential to each student’s high school journey and also to their academic success. It is Mr. Johnson’s goal to build a musical community in which all students support and celebrate each other through all of their years at Madison High School. Mr. Johnson holds his teaching credential and Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from San Diego State University where he performed in the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and University Chorus. Mr. Johnson is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, the California Music Educators Association, and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.
