Hi my name is Jeff Strukel and I am your visual Art Teacher here at Madison High School. Here at Madison High we offer Design and Mixed Media 1-2, 3-4, and AP Art and Design. You may be able to take art for three to four full years here at Madison depending on your goals and schedules.
Design and Mixed Media will expose you to skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, printmaking, pencil work, paper craft, watercolor, chalk, murals, mixed media and collage. You will learn to utilize the elements and principles of design in your work, and be able to create powerful, beautiful works of art that you can be proud of. You will have opportunities to display and showcase your work, as well as, present your concepts and artistic journey.
As your Teacher, I try to be well versed in many mediums to be able to demonstrate and explore these aspects with you. I hope you wish to explore and expand your skills and talents by taking visual art here at Madison High School. I look forward to working with each and every one of you. The Pathway

Design and Mixed Media 1-2
This is the foundation course. You will learn how to use various media and learn a variety of artistic techniques. No experience is necessary.
Design and Mixed Media 3-4
Design and Mixed Media 3-4
This course expands on the knowledge learned in year one DMM. Added this year is the balance of technique and application, purpose and meaning, behind the works of art. Must have taken DMM1-2.
AP 2-D Art and Design
AP 2-D Art and Design
This course is reserved for those who have completed DMM1-2, and DMM 3-4. Students work with guidance from the Teacher to create a year long sustained investigation covering a particular topic of interest. Students create 15 thematic works of art to be judged by professionals in the field at the end of the year to receive AP/College credit for the course.
