Mission

Every student at LMEC has access to equal opportunity for success, and every student has access to relevant, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. The mission of the school counseling program at LMEC is to promote and enhance student learning opportunities so that there is routine infusion of important concepts as academic development, career development, personal and social development issues into regular classroom activities and in other activities throughout the school.

School counselors support in creating a safe learning environment where teachers, parents, students and  community partners collaborate to develop students who will be tomorrow’s leaders and who find purpose and joy in their own lives and advocate for others and students that are healthy, caring, responsible, lifelong learners and productive members of society.  

Vision

LMEC School Counseling Department is committed to supporting all students by assisting and guiding them in making decisions, developing new habits, and to develop their growth mindset. LMEC School Counselors provide an inclusive environment and work with all students, collaborate with other school professionals, families and community agencies in a proactive and preventative way to assist students in developing life-long learning skills. As an integral part of the total educational program, credentialed Youth Advocates/school counselors ensure equity and access to services so that every student is challenged and supported to achieve his/her/their highest potential.
