HOW DO I?
Create a Parent Account - Step-by-Step Instructions
Make sure you have the following information:
A valid email address.
The Access ID and Access Password for each of your students. These are different from your student's Student ID and Student Password that they use to log in to their Chromebooks. The Access ID and Access Password are only used to link your student to your parent account. If you do not have these, please email us at virtualacademy@sandi.net to request them.
Visit our PowerSchool Portal webpage: https://powerschool.sandi.net/public/
Select the Create Account tab
Click on Create Account
Enter your First and Last Name
Enter your Email Address
Re-enter your Email Address
Choose a Username. This can be the same as your email address. Please do not use spaces.
Select a Password using the following rules:
Must be at least eight characters long
Must contain at least one uppercase letter and one lowercase letter
Must contain at least one letter and one number
Must contain at least one special character from above the number keys on the keyboard (these include ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) )
For each child, enter their Student Name, Access ID and Access Password. Choose their Relationship to you from the drop-down box.
Click on Submit.
You should now be able to log in using your Username and Password that you created.
If the Username or Password is ever forgotten, please use the Forgot Username or Password link on the PowerSchool Portal. If you reset your password and do not receive a password reset email within 10-15 minutes, please email us at virtualacademy@sandi.net

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between a Student Account and a Parent Account?
A Student Account is created by our IT Department. A Parent Account is created by a parent.
The Username for a Student Account is their Student ID Number. The Username for a Parent Account is created by a parent.
A Student Account password is reset by the IT Department. A Parent Account password can be reset by the parent.
A Student Account is mainly read-only. A student can email teachers, print unofficial transcripts, and check grades and attendance. With a parent account, in addition to emailing teachers, printing unofficial transcripts, and checking grades and attendance, parents can fill out surveys such as the LCFF, sign forms, inform the school of address and/or phone number changes.
I have forgotten my username or password
Your Username can be recovered or your Password reset on this page:

If you have forgotten your Username, select the Username tab and a enter your email address. Your Username will be emailed to you.
If you have forgotten your Password, select the Forgot Password tab and enter your Username and email address. A link to reset your password will be emailed to you.
How do I add multiple children to my account?
Sign in to PowerSchool
Select Account Preferences
Click on the Students tab
Click on the Add button
Is there a smartphone app for PowerSchool?
Yes! First create an account in PowerSchool. Once your account is created, you can log in to it using the PowerSchool App. To find out more, and links to download the app, please visit:
Please note that the PowerSchool App the following limitations: You cannot use the mobile app to create a parent account, reset your password, sign forms or fill out surveys at this time.
What District Code do I enter in the PowerSchool app?

When I log in to PowerSchool using my computer, tablet, or phone, the screen does not look right
If you are using a computer, notebook or tablet computer, please make sure your browser is up to date. You can also try using a different browser. PowerSchool should display properly in up-to-date Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox browsers.
If you are using a tablet, try switching to landscape mode. Some features may only work properly on a computer browser.
If you are using a smartphone, try switching to landscape mode. Some features may only work properly on a computer browser.
