San Diego Community College District College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP). The CCAP program helps high schools to get a jump start on college by earning college and high school credit at NO COST!!!
Mesa courses are dual credit, you get high school credit and college credit. All courses carry weighted credit as long as they are 100 level course or above.
Students should let their counselor know if they are interested in taking a Mesa College Course at Clairemont High. These courses are part of a dual-enrollment program that allows college credit on high school transcript and college transcript. Students will have to apply to Mesa college (obtain a college ID Number) and have college level classroom expectations while taking these courses.
College level courses are held at Clairemont with a Mesa professor meeting 2-3 times a week, just like a typically college course!
High School Students taking College courses MUST be independent and mature to handle college courses. Colleges will ONLY work with students, not parents.
High School Students taking Mesa College Courses are eligible to access Mesa College Tutoring Services. This could be in-person/on Mesa Campus or Virtual Online tutoring as late as 6:30pm.
Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) department at Mesa College offers a variety of services for students with verified disabilities. Examples include students with learning disabilities, impairments in vision, hearing, and mobility, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, and other medical disabilities.
The DSPS Office can assist students with the following:
• Identify individual accommodations
• Recommend appropriate disability management strategies
• Assist with understanding legal rights and responsibilities
⚬ Students that have High School IEP’s and 504’s don’t translate to college level services
⚬ Will need to apply separately and have DSPS formal intake
