For Parents/Guardians with a Gmail account as their Primary E Mail Address in Power School:
Use the SRHS Attendance Form
If your primary email address in PowerSchool is not G-Mail or connected to a Google Account use these instructions to update your email.
The preferred method for reporting a full-day absence, late arrival, or early release is the official SRHS Attendance Form. The form must be submitted from a parent or guardian email address listed in PowerSchool.
SRHS expects families to report an absence or request an attendance correction within 24 hours. At least 24 hours’ notice is recommended for planned appointments and early releases.
Submitting the form documents the reason provided. It does not guarantee that the attendance mark will be excused.

Full Day Absences
Submit the attendance form as soon as possible and include the date or dates, anticipated return date, specific reason for the absence, and accurate parent or guardian contact information. Avoid general explanations such as “personal reasons” when a more specific explanation can be provided.
Late Arrival
Students who arrive late should go directly to class unless directed otherwise by a staff member. They should not lose additional instructional time waiting at the Attendance Office.
The attendance record will be handled as follows:
• The teacher records Tardy (T) when the student is no more than 30 minutes late.
• When the student misses more than 30 minutes of the period, the teacher notifies the Attendance Office, and Attendance Office staff record Tardy—More Than 30 Minutes (W).
Attendance staff may later update the mark when a timely form has been submitted and the reason qualifies as excused. Parent notification alone does not automatically excuse the late arrival.
Early Release
Requests received by 10:00am
1. Submit the early-release request by 10:00 a.m. on the day of release.
2. The student picks up the off-campus pass before school, during passing time, or at lunch.
3. The student presents the pass to the teacher at the approved release time.
4. The student signs out before leaving campus and signs back in if returning that day.
To protect instructional time, the Attendance Office will not routinely interrupt class to deliver a pass or call a student out. The student is responsible for picking up the pass during an approved non-instructional time.
Requests received after 10:00am
A parent or guardian must come to the Attendance Office in person, present identification, and check the student out. This requirement also applies to students who drive themselves. A late phone call, email, form, or parent message is not sufficient authorization for a student driver to leave campus.
A student may be released to another adult only when that adult is authorized in PowerSchool and presents valid identification. Leaving without school authorization may be recorded as truancy and may result in administrative consequences.
When a Student Becomes Ill at School
A student who becomes ill or injured during the school day must report to the Health Office. Students should not independently text or call a parent to arrange to leave. Health Office staff will evaluate the student, contact the parent or guardian when appropriate, and coordinate an authorized release.
Attendance Corrections
When a student believes a teacher-recorded absence or tardy is incorrect, the student should first speak directly with the teacher. Questions about an attendance code entered by the Attendance Office should be directed to the appropriate attendance clerk.
Students are responsible for recovering any AZTWU codes they receive.
3 tardies (T) and one full-day parent-verified unexcused absence (U) are permitted per semester
