Mid City CAN Transportation (ITCH)/ Policing Policies- Sept 2020

-Mid City CAN will come in the classroom to discuss the work that the organization is doing as it relates to transportation within the community and throughout San Diego as well as discussing policing policies within San Diego as well as City Heights.

Public Advocacy/Storytelling Training - October 2020

The training explains how students can become part of a group to change public policy. Describing how to create legislation, organize the special interest or community, and how to influence change in your community through voting. The second half explains how to explain information using storytelling elements to make more impact on the representatives.

Public Testimony Training - Oct. 2020

The training discusses how to present information to local government agencies at meetings as well as how to explain ideas using storytelling elements to make it more 'real' to the representatives.

The workshop provides the foundation of AMPLIFYing through a discussion of the definition of Student Voice, an outline of the workshops as well as an activity where students explore the power of their Student Voice.

Workshop Leadership: Youth-Adult Partnerships & Power Sharing - Oct 2020

What is power/ Who actually has it? Students discuss what is power, what it means to have power and who really has the power. They then discover ways in which both students and adults can partner and share power for a more collective and stronger impact.

Workshop Change Agency: Power of our Stakeholders - February 2021

To make any change, one has to top into the power of their stakeholders. Students will learn what is a stakeholder, discover who are their stakeholders and will engage in a power analysis of each type of stakeholder.

Workshop Change Agency: Time For Campaign Action! - April 2021

Students will learn of the many ways they can campaign for change and express their demands in ways that will get people to listen! Here they will develop a plan for action and begin the steps to carry it out.
