cool glasses frame , this photo i found by google search inspired me very much
i will make some modification on it's design to fit my idea and combine mandalla or string in my design
i care about this idea because i like combinig crafts
fusion 360 is the frist step , i use it for designing after learning hoe to use the program from tutorials this week.
for the glasses side design
i extract the file .stl to prepare it for 3D printing machine
for 3D printing :
machine : creality - ender3 v2
software: ultimaker cura
material: PLA
after extracting file .dxf
i use lasercad to prepare my glasses front side for laser cutting

I use fusion 360 for designing
1- i skitch the design starting with one half then i use MIROR option to complete my design
2- i use circular patern arround the center point of the biggest circle to skitch the small circles uniformly
3- i was very carful to define all points while i was working step by step
4- i extrud the design 3mm and give it wooden appearence
5- i save the file as xdf then i open it by lasreCAD to prepare the file for lasercutting
6- i choose the option CUT for all lines using speed =10 and power =65

1- i use fusion 360 for glasses hand design
2- i skitch it then i use fillet option to make the curve
3- i extrude the hand 3mm then i make another small rectangle perpendicullar to the hand and extrude it , i made a small circle 3.3mm and extrude cut it , i use FILLET and chamfer for the final look and PLA appearence
4. i saved the file as stl file
5- i open it with ultramaker cura to prepare it for 3D PRINTING

infill =10%
6- it didn't take time because it's simple design
7-after slicing it will take 30min only

1- i reviewed my dxf file with eng.mahmoud walid , all set up was cutting with speed = 10 and power = 65
2- i sent him the dxf file to slack DM
3- he helped me and all my peers of saturday slots and cut all glasses on one wooden sheet because of the restrictions related to the important visit of THE PRIME MINISTRE
finally , i have my laser cutting glasses .....

1- i reviewed my stl file with eng.mahmoud walied with ULTRAMAKER CURA , he helped me to duplicate the hand and rotate it also he advised me to adjust the quality to 0.2 (standard) and 0 % infill
2- i sent the (gcode) to sd card and inserted it in the machine
3- he started printing this time for the same reason
( the restrictions related to the important visit of THE PRIME MINISTRE )
4- for 1 hour and half i tried to document the printing process as i can by taking photos and short video
finally , i have my glasses hands with red color :) .....

i made black lashes with cotton yarn
my peers like my glasses and try it :)
although the fabrication slot this time was very restricted , but i enjoyed it with my peers and instructors also eng.mahmoud was very cooperative

1- the idea of sketching half and miror the other one was asmaa's
2- yassin adviced me to drag and drop any item i want to define it to specify the direction needed to be defind (GOOD TIP)
3- I learned things about how to make the assignment from viewing last maker deploma's partecipants journals
this week was full of experience i will try to mention some of it as i can :
1- i tried to design another shape but i wasn't able to define all it's points so i used another idea not to spend alot of time
2- befor writting this assignment , i reviewed some journals of last year to generate idea's about how to write it
3- when you skitch a design for laser cutting you must take care of the connected lines ,as it will be cut with each other, so you will have to separate it (it was mohanad's tip)
4- trying fusion options such as mirror may save time and not difficult as i was thinking
5- detecting the defect of mistured fillement by hearing the sound of bubbles or visual check on the stream and we can solve this problem by heating the fillement to obtain good surface (it was avery good practical advice from eng.mahmoud)

befor laser cutting eng.mahmoud adviced me to edit this circle or delete it because will affect the screw circle beside it
i prefer to delete it and the other one beside to avoid any problems because there was alot of time
the lesson learned is to consider the effect of KERF on the object in the design step

it's my first task i made from the scratch
i will never forget how i feel depressed on my first design learning day , and now after weeks i can make nice things
i will always remember that the hardest step is the first but it can pass with a little bit of patience :

the bottel cap of my sister's shaker was lost
she asked me if there is any solution for it as it was expensive :) :)
by the MAKER SPIRIT i tried to find a solution even if it is theorical till now ....
mahmoud helped me to get the real dimention with the caliper then i made the design by fusion 360
mohanad helped me to use the thread tool
i knew that i can't print it wih my maker quota and i've to visit FAB LAB to fabricate
now , i have the stl file waiting for fabrication at FAB LAB elmaadi as soon as i can get there
