The assignment for this week is pen holder.
My idea comes from searching on the internet.
I selected this idea because I saw how many pens can be combined.

I used Fusion 360 for design and RDworks software for CAM for the laser cutter machine.
The machine of laser cutter is El Malky ML149 Laser Cutter.
Using plywood material with 3 mm thickness.

I designed it using Fusion 360. I created a sketch and after I finished it, I extruded these parts. Then I combined these parts. Using T-slots to combine these parts.
Furthermore, I prepared it in RDworks software for the laser cutter machine. I used a red color for the scan or engraving, black for the cut, and blue for the speed cut.
The file took 4 minutes to fabricate in the laser cutter machine.

After finishing the 2D design in Fusion 360 for the front frame, I used RDworks, also, I saved the project as a plt and DXF files to implement it in the machine. In addition, I implemented it in a laser cutter machine.
I used cut lines for the laser cutter machine which is black. Scan is red color and speed cut is blue.

During this week, I worked with the team which made a great effort and we helped each other. We designed a lantern.
The lantern combines two parts:
The sides A and B, the front, and the bottom in the laser cutter.
The bracket in 3D printing.

When I got stuck, I asked Ahmed or Farida to help me.
Sometimes I take a pause and start researching about lanterns.
I faced a problem when we made a circular pattern, the pattern objected T- slots holes. When we faced this problem, we decided to use a small tall pattern to avoid this problem.
We can avoid this problem when we do the assignment.
Focusing on dimensions in Fusions 360, and using projections tools are the skills and knowledge that I have acquired this week in my final project.
Furthermore, using T-slots are a good option for enclosure in my final project.
The coolest thing that I have learned this week is how to design a lantern and prepare it to work in the laser cutter machine and bracket in 3D printing.
Combining parts in the laser cutter and using 3D printing for bracket are things that I will never forget from this week.
