Star Medal using 3D printing
My ideas for the first week are the medals.
Star medal for 3D printing and Coffee medal for Laser cutter machine.
I saw the first tasks can be medals to know from it how to use these machines and implement my ideas.

I used RDworks software for the laser cutter machine. The machine of laser cutter is El Malky ML149 Laser Cutter. Using plywood material with 3 mm thickness.
Also, I used Ultimaker Cura software for 3D printing machine. The machine of the 3D printing is Prusa MK3 3D Printer. Using PLA filament for the material.

I downloaded a coffee medal and designed it using RDworks software for the laser cutter machine. I used a red color for the scan or engraving, black for the cut, and blue for the speed cut.

I downloaded a star medal and designed it using Cura software for the 3D printing machine. I used 0.2 mm profile or layer height, 20% infill, support, and adhesion brim.
It takes 4 grams and 0.5 h.

After finished 2D design in laser cutter software (RDworks), I saved the project as a ptl file to implement it in the machine. ِAfter that, I implemented it in a laser cutter machine.
In the other side, I used Cura software to extract the g-code for the star medal to implement it in the 3D printing machine. Furthermore, I fabricated it in 3D printing machine.

During this week, I worked with the team which has a great effort and we help each other. We worked in the laser cutter machine and edit some thing in the design that downloaded from internet.
Furthermore, we downloaded 3D design and adjusting profile, infill, support, and adhesion brim.

When I got stuck, I ask Ahmed or Farida to help me.
Some times I taking a pause and starting a research about machine or software orders.
Choosing machines, and engraving in design 2D for laser cutting are some mistakes that other can avoid if they were doing this assignment.

Using Laser cutting machine, using 3D printing, preparation file for them are some of skills and knowledge that we have acquired in my final project.
In addition, used terms of laser cutter machine like cut, speed cut, scan and the power and the speed for the element of it.

The coolest thing that I have learned this week is how the use digital fabrication machines (3D printing and laser cutter).
Comparison between scanning and speed cut for laser cutter machine are things that I will never forget from this week.
