The assignment for this week is glasses and it combining of two parts:
Front face in laser cutter.
The side arms in 3D printing machine.
This assignment learns me how to combine parts between laser cutter, 3D printing, and how to make screws.
My eyeglasses is inspired me to choose this design.
Front Face in Fusion 360
Side arms in Fusion 360
I used RDworks software for the laser cutter machine. The machine of laser cutter is El Malky ML149 Laser Cutter. Using plywood material with 3 mm thickness.
Also, I used Ultimaker Cura software for 3D printing machine. The machine of the 3D printing is Prusa MK3 3D Printer. Using PLA filament for the material.

I designed the Eyeglasses arm and Frame using Fusion 360. with a tall 15 cm arm. I created a sketch and after I finished it I extruded the parts. I made two holes in frames and arms to combine it after that using screws and nuts.
The frame took 1.5 minutes in laser cutter machine.
The frames in 3d printing took 1.5 hours and 8 grams.

I designed it using Fusion 360 and prepared it in RDworks software for the laser cutter machine. I used a red color for the scan or engraving, black for the cut, and blue for the speed cut.

I designed it using Fusion 360 and the prepared it in Cura software for the 3D printing machine. I used 0.2 mm profile or layer height, 20% infill, no support, and no brim.

After finishing the 2D design in Fusion 360 for the front frame, I used RDworks, also, I saved the project as a plt and DXF files to implement it in the machine. In addition, I implemented it in a laser cutter machine.
I used cut lines for the laser cutter machine which is black.
In the other side, I used Cura software to extract the g-code for the side arms to implement it in the 3D printing machine. Furthermore, I fabricated it in 3D printing machine.
I used an infill of 20%, a Layer height of 0.2 mm, No brim, and no support for the 3D printing machine.

During this week, I worked with the team which has a great effort and we help each other. We designed robot.
The robot combining of two parts:
The face in 3D printing
The body in laser cutter

When I got stuck, I ask Ahmed or Farida to help me.
Some times I taking a pause and starting a research about machine or software orders.
Cutting in laser cutter and fabrication on 3D printing are some mistakes that other can avoid if they were doing this assignment.
Using Laser cutting machine, using 3D printing, preparation file for them are some of skills and knowledge that we have acquired in my final project.
In addition, used terms of laser cutter machine like cut, speed cut, scan and the power and the speed for the element of it.
The coolest thing that I have learned this week is how to design a robot and preparing it to work in 3D printing and laser cutter machines.
Combining between laser cutter and 3D printing parts are things that I will never forget from this week.
