The sun tracking project
Sun positions
According to the last directions of the world, renewable energy especially solar energy plays an important part in the trend technologies. My project achieves some SDGs like number 7: affordable and clean energy, number 11: sustainable cities and communities, and number 13: climate action.
I was inspired by this idea during my work in solar energy stations as I work as a solar energy engineer. I saw the difference in the direction of the sun during the day and saw the difference in the power output during it.
The sun rises every day from east to west and my project is to follow the sun from east to west every day using the servo motor to move the solar panels in all directions.
The number of PV panels for each motor depends on its force and how many kilograms can move it. My system can expanded, Heat is not considered in my project. My project will be a single-axis tracker. My single-axis tracker will increase yield sufficiently to make it worthwhile in terms of cost and space used.
Explain your impact assessment on those four pillars: social, economic, environmental, and natural resources. And, explain how this assessment will influence your project concept and goals.
Social Impact:
1- Does your prototype directly address a specific need or improve the quality of life for its target audience?
2- Have you considered inclusivity or accessibility to ensure your solution benefits a diverse group of people?
Economic Impact:
1- Is your prototype designed to be affordable and cost-effective for its intended users?
2- Does your project contribute to local economic growth, such as supporting local manufacturing or jobs?
Environmental Impact:
1- Have you taken/going to take steps to use materials efficiently, reduce waste during production, or repurpose leftover materials from your prototype?
2- Does your solution promote environmental awareness or encourage sustainable practices in its intended use?
Natural Resources Impact:
1- Are you going to responsibly use sourced or recyclable materials in your prototype?
2- Does your solution help conserve essential natural resources like water or energy?
Social Impact
My prototype directly addresses a specific need and improves the quality of life for people and companies.
My project considered accessibility to ensure my solution benefits a diverse group of people.
Economic Impact
My prototype is designed to be affordable and cost-effective for its intended users.
My project may be contributing to local economic growth, such as supporting local manufacturing and creating new jobs.
Environmental Impact
My project never uses materials efficiently, or reduces waste during production because raw materials for my project form from environmental processes.
My solution promotes environmental awareness and encourages sustainable practices because using solar energy is one of the sustainable development goals.
Natural Resources Impact
I'm not going to responsibly to use sourced or recyclable materials in my prototype.
My project may help conserve essential natural resources like energy because using solar energy in it.

Arduino UNO with input and output
The input for this project is a light-dependent resistor (LDR). LDR is a type of passive electronic sensor used to detect light.
The out is the servo motors that move PV panels.
Arduino is used as a brain for this project. When the sun is high on a side, then servo motor moves the PV panel in this direction.

Construction Parts
The main structure of the sun tracking will be made of wood like as a box.
Input
(Sensing, Tactile Input, and/or Graphical Input)
The light-dependent resistor (LDR) will be able to detect the intensity of Sun light automatically and take action for solar cells upon that.
Action
(Physical and/or Graphic)
The Solar cell panel will be able to move and rotate automatically using servo motor.
Brain
I will be using Arduino UNO as the brain for the project.
Power Management
I will be using my adapter to power the whole project
Describe how your project will leverage maker tools like laser cutters or 3D printers to reduce waste, and increase maintainability. Also, explain your choice of materials such as fabric, plastic filament, or recycled plastic sheets to support green innovation. Select materials with low environmental impact, and explain their relevance to your project.
Solar tracking
My main focus is on using maker tools and machines such as 3d printers, laser cutters, ...etc to create user features that improve the overall project sustainability.
I'm using maker tools and machines like laser cutters and 3D printers to manufacture the physical structure of the sun tracking project . I'm mainly using wood as the main materials for the structure. These may seem like non-sustainable materials—that's right! But I'm focusing on different aspects likeease of manufacturing, and reducing waste. All these aspects are directly related and improving the overall project sustainability.
Minimum Features: are the least amount of features that would demonstrate the coverage of all the technical modules and their complete integration
Complete Features: are the set of features that will complete your original project objective and vision
Nice-to-have Features: are the extra set of features that will make the project cooler, yet they need extra time, effort, and/or resources to finish

Describe how you’ll use Arduino programming, along with sensors and actuators, to create functions that improve your project’s efficiency, reduce resource use, or monitor environmental impact.
My main focus is on using the Arduino board and programming to create user features that improve the overall project sustainability.
I'm using the Arduino board alongside LDR sensors and actuators to detect some environmental behavior like sunlight to take actions like moving or rotating the Solar cells that maximize solar energy, which is directly related to SDGs 7 (affordable and clean energy) , 11 ( sustainable cities and communities), and 13 ( climate action).
