Designing a cool sunglasses which non-traditional one with a different shape type not square or circle.
the sunglasses is from 2 parts one is will be 3d printed which is the arms and the other one will be laserr cutting.
It is my own idea I trying to get out of the traditional shape of the glasses so I descided to be polygon. like the picutre below but with some twist.
Prusa mk2 machine is used for 3d printing
PLA filment
with green color
Elmalky laser cutter is used for laser cutting process
3mm ply wood is used for laser cutting
using fusion 360Ā for designingĀ the product parts and smiulate the final result before fabrication.
Using rd works to prepare files for laser cutting
First, OpenĀ "Fusion 360".
After opening make a new file and save it.
Start a new sketch on the top plane
Then start drawing the sketch of the front part of the Sun glassess by making a circle its diameter 39mm
from the same center point of the circle draw a hexagon making it fully defined by putting the dimentions.
Add the middle lines of the sunglassess
Make a center line to mirror the side of sunglassess.
Make trim for areas needed to trim and fillets also make the sketch fully defined.Ā
Add two holes for the screw . the holes is 3mm diammeterĀ
draw it by using the circle tool.
Then finish the sketch and extrude the front part to 3mm.
And give it the appearnce of the wood.
Then, on the rhigt plane draw the sketch of the arms.
by using rectangle tool its dimension 92.3*8mm
and draw an other rectangle with 50*8mm dimension and its angle on the horizantol line is 60 degree
For the L shape draw a line its lenthe is 8mm and far 5mm from the front of the sunglasses
Extrude the arms to 5mm.
After extrude on the L part draw a sketch of a 3.3MM diameter circle then extrude cut it to make a hole.
Fillet the edges on 0.5mm radius and chamfer some esges.
Move the arm to edge of front part.
Then chamfer the L shape with 3mm
Mirror the arm to the other side.
Preparing parts for fabrication
by savingĀ arms parts as mesh to be ready for Cura
And savingĀ the front part sketch as DXF to be ready for RD works.
By right click on the sketch of the part and choose save as dxf
Preparing arms file for printing.
first, Rotate the objects to be lay flat on surface.
second, make the layer hight 0.3mm
infill 10%
Printing temperture 215
Then slice
It will take 32 Min
and 7 gram
Preparing front file for cutting.
first, import the file to Rd works.
Then put the cutting parameters which is:
Speed:40
Power: 50-55
After slicing we save the file on the SD card then put it on the Prusa Mk2 machine.
