The Work idea is preparing a pen and pencil holder which can be used for two different purposes. My idea was preparing a pen holder combined with mobile stand by using wood with t- slots to make sure from good fixing.
Usually, I faced a problem in getting a cover with stand to fix my mobile when I study or write important notes.
The inspiration came from that usually I forget the place of my mobile and waste a lot of time while I trying to find it. So, I decided to make a holder to keep it on and a pen holder to also put all my pens and pencils on my office also.
The photo is similar to my design but not totally as I used some different techniques such as T- slots and slightly different mobile holder design.
The locally machine which called El Malky ML149 CO2 Laser Cutter for cutting the front frame of glasses.
Plywood 3mm sheet that used in the cutting process.
1. LaserWorkV6 Application which used to prepare the design before cutting process.
2. Fusion 360 which used for sketching the parts of 2 in 1 pen holder.
At the first, I started with a rectangle 80 mm X 80 mm for the back stand of the mobile holder part.
I made the T - slot by drawing two triangle the first one is 8 mm X 3mm and the second one is 5.5 mm X 2.40 mm and then I put point in each one and aliened them to be the lower distance between the side of the large one and the sider of the 80 mm X 800 rectangle is 3 mm.
After that I started in designing the two rectangles 3mm X 10 mm and from a distance 10 mm from the inside rectangles.
I need to repeat the previous stages for 3 times. So, I made a point in the midle of the 80 mm X 80mm rectangle and made it aligned with origin and with the point on the right side of the first rectangle and start the circular pattern options to be partial and repeated for 3 times as shown in figure.
To make the right side of the mobile stand I made a new component and started in designing on the right tap of the back panel a rectangle with dimensions 45 mm X 70 mm and use the project option to make the holes inside it.
In this stage, I copied the right side and make it for the left side and use joints to make sure from the object assembly. after that I made a fillet for the right and left sides with 25 mm.
To make the bottom of the mobile holder I assembled the right and left parts and used the projection to determine the places of taps and draw the circuit with diameter 3 mm and then extruded the shape with 3mm.
Then I got to make the sides of pen holder. I started with square 100 mm X 100 mm and made the T - slot with the same way in the above. Then I made two rectangles with dimensions 3 mm X 50 mm to make the sides enters with each other's.
I copied the previous design with all the same dimensions. I copied it for two other copies with changed the place of the two triangles instead of up to be bottoms.
And finally made the bottom part by assembled all parts and using the projection to determine as all tap positions and made a circuit between each 2 taps with diameter 3 mm and then extruded with thickness 3mm. And I started to save each part with DXF extension.
In LaserWork software I determined areas of cutting.
I customized the cut conditions as the following:
Speed: 25
Power: 65
Finally, I saved the file with ai extension, and the file is ready now for next step.
Click to Green circular button to turn on the machine.
From the PC connected to machine open Laserwork software and import my file.
Adjust the power and speed according to required conditions.
Click download to be able to upload the file to the machine.
From machine, click file and then I choose my file name.
Move the machine nozzle to determine the dimensions of the desirable design and reduce the wood waste.
Fix the plywood well to make sure that the nozzle will cut as design setting.
Click frame, until you determined the area of cutting.
Turn on the cooling bottom.
Close the door of the machine and click start.
The most challenge I faced in this week I designed at first a design which not suitable for the criteria which needs me to make another one and that makes a lot of times to be handled.
The other challenge was the way of make an accurate project of taps and it solved by watching more tutorials about this point and more practice to give this final output.

In this week I practiced more on Fusion 360 which makes me able to imagine something and be able to draw it fully defined by the software. So, in this assignment I tried to apply the all-week ideas that I have been learned like T- slot design and how can be able to make an object with different joints.
T - slot application
Bracket design
Mobile stand application
Game kit assembly
Different features of Fusion 3D
EOWeek Session
This week was really grateful, we made a lantern as the following:
bracket obtained from 3D printer
Outer body by using Laser Cutting
The design was slightly complex but with this team the work was enjoyable, and I obtained a lot of information and different views of sketching from Nada and Abdulrahman. Thanks, a lot for both.
