Hi ,
There is something I have noticed a lot lately, which is that a large segment of children cannot concentrate for a long time to complete some tasks. Tasks may be large and require some time, or they may be small and do not require all that much time .
If the tasks required all that time, there would be no big problem, but what if they do not require all that time?
Some people have been diagnosed with ADHD
So , what is that !
ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is a medical condition.
A person with ADHD has differences in brain development and brain activity that affect attention, the ability to sit still, and self-control.
ADHD can affect a child at school, at home, and in friendships.
What is its signs !
All kids struggle at times to pay attention, listen and follow directions, sit still, or wait their turn. But for kids with ADHD, the struggles are harder
and happen more often.
Kids with ADHD can show signs in different areas. They might be:
Inattentive. Kids who are inattentive (easily distracted) have trouble focusing their attention, concentrating, and staying on task. They may not listen well to directions, may miss important details, and may not finish what they start. They may daydream or dawdle too much. They may seem absent-minded or forgetful, and lose track of their things.
Hyperactive. Kids who are hyperactive are fidgety, restless, and easily bored. They may have trouble sitting still, or staying quiet when needed. They may rush through things and make careless mistakes. They may climb, jump, or roughhouse when they shouldn't. Without meaning to, they may act in ways that disrupt others.
Impulsive. Kids who are impulsive act too quickly before thinking. They often interrupt, might push or grab, and find it hard to wait. They may do things without asking for permission, take things that aren't theirs, or act in ways that are risky. They may have emotional reactions that seem too intense for the situation
*As being the eldest grandson , I saw this case many times , and it makes me think a lot as I saw the suffering of their parents . So , I thought if I can do something helping in this case . So I am trying to make something help the children keep focusing more time on doing something and do not temporize his tasks . Also helps them to divide their task to avoid getting bored .
Okay ,
I wanna make some thing as a smart device that perform tow functions :
The first is alarm us if there is something abnormal ( in the child behavior)
The second is help solving this problem ( if there is any ) that by :
_Keep his focus for along time or till finishing his task .
_Doing his tasks without temporization .
The imaginary scenario is:
1. Parents will write the tasks that might be done along the day , using the keyboard .
2. when the child get starting to do one of them , will choose the task name from the written list , then press start and by finishing will press finish , using buttons on the right of the keyboard .
3.There will be a timer to make the child realize the existence of the time factor.
4. When the child finish , it well be a ward to encourage him continue .
Construction Parts
Its wall will be built in plywood 3mm ( using laser cutting)
And contain 3d parts ( using 3d printing ) .
Input
(Sensing, Tactile Input, and/or Graphical Input)
Action
(Physical and/or Graphic)
The device will show a timer on the LCD screen and also DFPlayer module will say some sentences while the device is running .
Brain
An Arduino UNO board will be used take inputs and generate actions
Power Management
It will run using 9volt adupter .
