3D The witcher medalion

We Have 2 assignments for this week a 3D printing and a laser cutting one.

I love gaming so for the 3D Printing one I chose a medallion for a model based on one of my favourite games the Witcher 3.

For The Lase cutting one I chose a simple name tag design engraved with my name

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

For Laser Cutting We Used Laser Work as Software, Plywood sheet as material, and Laser cutter as a machine.

Parameters: Cut: Speed/ 30, Power/ 50

Scan: Speed/ 300, Power/25

For 3D printing we used Ultimaker-Cura as Software, PLA Filament as material and 3D printer as a machine.

Parameters: Infill :20, Layer hight: 0.2, With Support added to the fangs and chin

Design/Preparation Process

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

For the 3D project. I downloaded the design, added Support for the fangs, Parameters:

Infill :20
Layer hight: 0.2

For the Laser cutting project. I download the frame design and add my name to it. then set the parameter to Parameters:

Cut: Speed/ 30, Power/ 50
Scan: Speed/ 300, Power/25

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

For the 3D printer:

First loaded the file on an SD Card
loaded it on the Prusa mk24.
Selected the file,
waited for the bed and nozzle to reach optimal temp. and after 37 min. it was done.

For Laser Cutter:

Downloaded the file to the machine.
Selected the file.
Determined the origin point.
set the focus.
Closed the led and after 30 sec. It was done.

Overcoming Challenges

What kinds of challenges or problems did you face while doing the assignment, tutorials, or exercises? How did you solve them? Did you ask for help from an instructor or peer? Please provide a link to the tutorial or article that you used to solve your problem (if any)

The challenge was to remove the support from the 3d print, it took some Damage put it looks good. I used a clipper to remove it .

as for the tutorials and exercise they were clear, and the instructor's explanation made it simpler.

In the lab session, it was good.

Final Project

How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?

I learned how to operate the machines, Set the parameters, and hopefully some useful experience with removing the support from 3D parts.

What is the coolest thing that you've learned this week? What is something that you will never forget from this week?

Loading a new Filament to the 3D print.
