This week's assignment was to view a tutorial about 3D printing and Laser cutting and apply what we learned to a real product whose designs have been brought from open-source design websites.
for 3D printing:
Software: Ultimaker Cura .
Machiene: PRUSA i3 MK2 3D Printer
Material: PLA (Polylactatic acid)
For laser cutting:
Software: RDWork.
Machiene: El Malky ML1390 CO2 Laser Cutter.
Material: Plywood sheet 0.3*3*50 cm.

Time of printing: 21 minutes
The number of grams: 3g
Layer height: 0.2mm
Infill: 20%
After that, I saved the file with extension .gcode to be ready for printing.
For laser cutting: I imported the file with extension .dxf into the RDWorks program and selected the parts that will be cut and parts that will be engraved then I selected the layer parameters according to the following factors:
Processing mode: (cutting or scanning)
Speed of cutting/scanning.
Power of cutting/scanning.
Finally, I saved the file with extension .rld to be ready for cutting.

My Instructor Esraa Rageh advised me to add the type of material in the "Tool chain" section and write down the parameters for each process.
I was facing a problem with Ultimaker Cura software but when I came back to tutorials everything had done.
It will help me for using a 3D printer and laser cutter while working on the final project.
I will never forget the first time using the laser cutter and 3D printer to make real things with my hands.
