Final Project Proposal
Project Ideation
1- Tell us about the purpose of your project. Which problem does it solve? Why do you care about this? What were you inspired by? Include images and videos of similar projects
The idea of the project is to make an automatic irrigation system to irrigate house plants, and the goal is to preserve the life of the plants if a person misses them due to work schedules or when traveling for example. This idea was inspired by the Go Green initiative in which I was one of the volunteers. My participation in it made me take more care of the environment and preserve it through several habits, including home farming, and I want to contribute to encouraging people to do so and making this matter easier for them as much as possible.
2- Describe the project idea and general features. How would it work?
When you hear the term "smart garden," one of the things that spring to mind is a system that automatically measures soil moisture and waters your plants. With this type of system, you can only water your plants when needed and avoid over- or under-watering. So this project is an Arduino based .automatic plant watering system.
The project will work by measuring soil moisture through a sensor immersed in the soil, and based on this sensor’s estimation of the degree of humidity, it will send an ignition to the water pump motor to make it pump water through the hoses, and when the soil reaches the required humidity, another notification will be sent to stop pumping water.

3- Sketch your project: You may use pen and paper or a simple sketching tool like Microsoft Paint or Photoshop
Project Planning
4- Describe the Technical Modules that your project consists of
Construction Parts
The design will be a box in the shape of a drop of water
And the dimensions of the box are 28 * 20* 5 - L*w*H
The box will contain the motor, the Arduino board, the sensor connection and the adapter connection.
It will have 4 slots
Hole for the water puller from the tank
The second is for expulsion
And a hole for the exit of the adapter wire
And a hole for the exit of the sensor wire embedded in the soil
Input (Sensing and/or User)
A soil moisture sensor probe should measure the soil moisture, the data read by the probe is sent to a microcontroller via the soil moisture sensor. The microcontroller processes the read data according to the specified commands (like threshold value) and communicates with a motor driver to start the water pump motor. However, in some projects a relay can be used to trigger the motor. The motor driver runs the water pump motor and water flow is through the pipes connected to the water pump motor. When the soil moisture sensor probe reaches the specified threshold, the system returns to the beginning and the water flow is stopped. This is executed as a loop by the microcontroller.
Action
The motor moves and pumps water automatically upon receiving a notification from the sensor.

-6 Categorize your project’s User Features into: Minimum, Complete, and Nice-to-have features. List the required action and input components per feature.
Minimum Features: are the least amount of features that would demonstrate the coverage of all the technical modules and their complete integration
Complete Features: are the set of features that will complete your original project objective and vision
Nice-to-have Features: are the extra set of features that will make the project cooler, yet they need extra time, effort, and/or resources to finish
Minimum User Features
Pumping water into the soil when there is a notice that the soil is dry.
Action:water pump
Sensing:capacitive soil moisture sensor v1.2
User Input: None
Complete User Features
Notification will send to the user when there is no water in the tank
