Project "... and Health for all!"
Today, there was in our school an international atmosphere. As part of the ERASMUS + project, representatives of five countries came to us: Italy, Sweden, Germany, Greece and Estonia. After greeting the director Ewa Skubis and the speech of Ms. Paulina Polak - director of the Local Government Education Team in Olkusz, English teacher - Mr. Edwin Caraballo-Cortes introduced foreign guests. The welcome ceremony was graced by the performances of our students dressed in Krakow costumes who sang "Ode to Joy" in three languages: Polish, English and German. The national anthems of the countries from which our guests came have also been played. Then came the time for artistic performances of the youngest students who introduced everyone in a good mood. In turn, eighth grade students danced the polonaise beautifully. It was felt that the performances were very popular with our foreign friends and the entire school community, which was confirmed by thunderous applause. After the artistic part, the pupils returned to the classes, and the guests were invited for refreshments, after which they began a walk around the school. The day was full of impressions and will certainly remain in our memory for a long time.

Participants of the "Erasmus plus" meeting set off today to visit the Maczuga Herkulesa, visit Pieskowa Skała Castle, but calm down, take advantage of the benefits nature offers us, enjoy the unique charm of this place. The program allowed the participants to focus properly on the subject of the project: "... and health for everyone!". It was created with a view to getting close to nature, to seek contact with it, because we are itself an inseparable part of it. The closer we are to it, the better our body and mind feel.
During a walk in the park, our guests talked about the fact that contact with nature gives us vital forces and energy, as well as strengthens our immunity. Surrounding with greenery makes us have better mood and willingness to live. It supports the development of children, and helps adults to recharge batteries that discharge quickly through the pace of life.
After a visit to the Park, whose purpose was to relieve tensions, relax and calm down, it was time for a trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Our foreign guests could feel the healing power of the underground microclimate, which helps in the treatment of many respiratory diseases and allergies. Visiting the mine, they inhaled.

The next day came time for evaluation. Coordinators met to gather information on the quality and adequacy of the results achieved. The discussion focused on whether the project responded to the actual needs of our group and whether it was correctly implemented. Evaluation helped to reflect on the quality of future initiatives. During this meeting, activities are planned for the next ones - scheduled to take place in October 2019 in Estonia. Participants shared knowledge about web applications to improve the quality of teacher's work and the gamification of the teaching process.
After the evaluation and healthy dinner, it was time for a short trip to Rabsztyn in the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura, where our guests could admire the ruins of the stronghold from the twelfth century. The participants of the "Erasmus plus" project are trying to remember that even if we live in cities, we should cultivate a bond with nature. We treat healthy eating, movement and nature as something the most important, because we were created for it.
In the evening came the time for a joint, official dinner at the Victoria hotel in Olkusz. Foreign guests were accompanied by the head teacher and employees of Primary School No. 1.

They were taught by a local "Baca" how to do it. They also learnt the way those people live in concordance with nature, the also made some healthy fruit salad from local products. They touched the chickens and sheep and heard the way they are raised in an eco-friendly way

E codes and food labels
As part of local activities, a lesson on food labelling was conducted during the Erasmus + project in class 8a. It took place on September 19, 2019. The aim of the class was: making students aware of the content of products they consume on a daily basis, primarily the presence of food chemistry, food additives; extension of ICT competence: the use of IT tools; Students watched videos about healthy eating, they also read the content of individual food products from the E-Codes phone application, after downloading them. The continuation of this activity was a visit to class 4a in a general grocery store, during which students became acquainted with the information placed on the packaging of products consumed every day. The students were involved in the tasks they performed because they realized the importance of being aware of the choice of what we eat. After local mobility, the teachers participating in the project ... and health for all! they shared in subject teams, during individual meetings with teachers with acquired knowledge and skills.
Similar activities were carried out in other classes during the September activities.
In September we carried out many activities dealing with the food labels and the impact it has on our health. We also visited some shops where the students scanned some products to identify the additive of food- which are safe and which are bad for us on the long term!

Around the school, young people prepared posters about the harmful effects of smoking and leaflets. At our school, we promoted the fashion of non-smoking, speak out loud about the harmfulness of smoking, diseases, addiction and encourage people to quit. Conference meeting aboutGreece activity
Dear partners,
Yesterday, I held a meeting with local teachers from the Olkusz community in order to disseminate the results of our projects and an example of good practice sharing. The participants were extremely interested in all the aspects of the project(applying, partners search, activities, evaluation, reporting, etc). Some of them have their children attending our school, so this was very helpful as they were already familiar with the project. I'm sending you some photos of the dissemination meeting and recommend you as an interesting/effective way to share our results around. If you have any question about this event please don't hesitate to ask any question. Hoping to see you soon during our next project management meeting!
