HS.HECPS.C.1 - Explore postsecondary educational and career pathways, and identify necessary training, education, skills, and prerequisites aligned with aspirations.
HS.HECPS.C.2 - Research admission processes for postsecondary pathways and practice applying to apprenticeships, military service, higher education, trades, and non-degree programs.
HS.HECPS.C.3 - Investigate strategies for making well-informed financial decisions about postsecondary pathways, including how to navigate financial aid options (i.e., FAFSA, ORSAA), application processes, and a variety of credible funding sources and scholarships.

Final Portfolio Requirements
This course culminates in a comprehensive Job Readiness and Postsecondary Planning Portfolio that showcases each student’s preparedness for future career and educational pathways. Aligned to the unit outcomes and Oregon’s Education Plan and Profile requirements, the portfolio includes the following required components:
Personal Career Reflection (Unit 1)
A written reflection connecting the student’s strengths, interests, values, and aptitudes to potential career paths.
Career Exploration Artifacts (Unit 2)
Documentation of at least three potential careers that align with the student’s profile
An in-depth exploration of one selected career, including the education/training pathway required
Job Readiness Materials (Unit 3)
Tailored resume
Customized cover letter
References list with appropriate contact information
Completed sample job application
Mock interview reflection with feedback and self-assessment
Postsecondary Pathway Plan (Unit 4)
Comparison of multiple postsecondary options
Personalized plan outlining chosen path and high school preparation steps
Sample application for a relevant postsecondary opportunity
Reflection or participation in appropriate assessments (SAT, ACT, ASVAB, etc.)
Financial Readiness Components (Unit 4)
FAFSA or ORSAA walkthrough or completion
Identification of 2–3 potential scholarships or funding sources
Basic financial plan for funding postsecondary goals
This portfolio serves as a capstone demonstration of students’ readiness to transition successfully from high school to meaningful postsecondary experiences.
