The sixth-grade curriculum explores the Old and New Testament and the importance of the Holy Scriptures to our faith.
Attend at least 8 of 15 Confirmation Classes. While 8 classes are required, we hope your child will continue to come after their 8th class.
Attend one Church service in person per liturgical season (Season after Pentecost (ordinary time), Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Easter=5 services) and complete a “Worship worksheet.”
Complete 5 hours of community service at Saint Luke’s*
Encouraged (not required)
Participate in 2 Youth Group events (outside confirmation) each semester
Serve as an acolyte, choir, Children’s Chapel assistant or other Sunday ministry team at least 1 time each semester
The seventh-grade curriculum continues the exploration of the Old and New Testament and study of their relevance to our faith.
Attend at least 10 of 15 Confirmation Classes. While 10 classes are required, we hope your child will continue to come after their 8th class. Students who do not complete their class requirements will have additional reading requirements to complete prior to their eighth grade year.
Attend one Church service in person per liturgical season (Season after Pentecost (ordinary time), Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Easter) and complete the “Worship worksheet.”
Serve as a regular acolyte, choir, Children’s Chapel assistant or other Sunday ministry team. Sign ups will take place at the beginning of each semester.
Complete 10 hours of community service at Saint Luke’s*

The eighth-grade year is the final preparation for Confirmation. The students will learn about The Episcopal Church, our history, and our beliefs.
Attend all classes. Each child will receive two excused absences. If there is a third, students must attend a make-up session to review the material (make-up sessions are announced at the start of each semester). More than four absences may result in removal from the program, and students delay Confirmation.

Attend 1 Holy Week Service and complete the “Holy Week Worksheet”
Serve as an acolyte, choir, Children’s Chapel assistant, lector or on another Sunday ministry team. Signups will take place at the beginning of each semester.
Receive at least a 15/20 on the end of year Confirmation Test. Students may take the test up to 3 times. If they still have not passed the test, they will meet one-on-one with the Rector.
Complete 15 hours of community service at Saint Luke’s*
Commit to a post-Confirmation ministry at Saint Luke’s. At the conclusion of the 8th grade year, students will make their decision as to whether to seek confirmation or not. Should a student decide against confirmation this time, they are always welcome to be confirmed in future years!
