Unable to commit to the three-year middle school confirmation program, or have a high schooler interested in being confirmed?
We know the three-year program is not for everyone for a variety of reasons and we offer a one-year program "Independent Study Option" for students in 8th grade-12th grade to help meet the needs of our students and their families. Held on alternating years, a small cohort of students read a book My Faith My Life, and meet 6-7 sessions for 1.5hrs each, traditionally on Sunday afternoons (or published dates) with clergy. Students also complete service hours and worship requirements and are confirmed in May of each year.

Students who are in 6th and 7th grade but are unable to commit to the full Confirmation program are still encouraged to participate in class and youth group. They are eligible to participate in the Independent Study Option when they are in 8th grade.

Students who are in the "Independent Study" option may choose to complete their requirements in one program year or over multiple years with one year being devoted to class, and another to service/worship, or one year service+class. The only requirement is the class portion be done in one continuous year.
