Audio for Film and Media
Audio for film and other visual media is a specialist area that a handful of students towards the end of their degree choose as a major. Audio studio 3 for trimester 1 saw two students take on this challenge.
They embedded themselves in various cross-discipline projects throughout the trimester undertaking diverse roles such as, location sound recordists, sound designers, foley artists, SFX design, soundtrack composition, dubbing mixers, as well as a range of other tasks.

Project Synopsis: Theo and Eva meet for “Happy Hour” drinks after work. During their flux of tipsy and changing conversations, they are not the only ones with judging opinions and feelings in the bar... Who’s to say Wine and Beer don’t have a mind of their own?

Project Synopsis: Dark & Stormy is a slice of life animation that attempts to depict the happenings within an underground dive bar and the little things that make everyone's night better- like when the bartender remembers your order. I've been a bartender for the last 4 years, and one of my favourite moments is seeing a patrons response when I recall their drink order for them, even on the busiest of nights.

Project Synopsis: The majority of people living with cancer remain unaware that seeking engagement with mind, body, and spirit can create a significant shift in their lives, a reclaiming of self allowing for greater awareness of health and ongoing wellness. Mainstream medicine is not the only approach to cancer treatment today. Integrating holistic, complementary therapies can offer a non-invasive approach, allowing for the discovery of greater personal wholeness and hope through a more, real, balanced, joyful and vital approach to life as a patient, caregiver or seeker of greater personal well being and zest for life.

Project Synopsis: A mermaid swims to meet her girlfriend by the beach to go on a date. Heavily inspired by the old trope of “opposites attract” I wanted to put a new spin on it by having a mermaid, someone who spends most of their life under the sea, falls in love with an angel, someone who spends their whole life in the sky.

Project Synopsis: New Friends is a short animation about and Introvert and an Extrovert and them becoming friends through their interest in drawing although at the start there is disagreement with sharing ones art. Though in the beginning the original inspiration for this was a meme (see below), this project slowly became a reflection of myself and my personality, as I am that shy person who quietly does their own thing and isn't much of a talker but is happy to make friends.

Project Synopsis: In this project we had the opportunity to rebrand a product from our local supermarket which we felt could use a fresh coat of paint to give new life to it. As a tea lover, I found myself walking straight to the tea aisle and chose to rebrand the Australian tea company, Nerada Organics.

Project Synopsis: Eldritch Abyss is a “freemium”, 3D isometric mobile game, with a low poly, blocky art style, featuring heavy cosmic horror themes.
The player controls a character who wakes up lost in an abyssal labyrinth, and must walk a crafted path amongst the void defeating whatever freakish beasts lay ahead.
