Genre Analysis Framework

Genre Analysis Basic Framework:

The genre analysis blogs are designed to be an exploratory exercise into at least one genre that is related to one of your projects. However, multiple genre analyses relating to multiple projects will help raise you above a baseline pass. These can be completely separate genres (like Jazz and ChipTune), all the way down to subtly different sub genres (like Trap, Trap Hip Hop, and Trap House).

The core components that should be included are:

- Intro to the genre

- Brief history of the genre’s origins

- Analysis of what makes this genre unique

• What separates it from it’s subgenres?
• What instruments/tones/production techniques are essential for the genre?
• (There should be as many audio examples for these tones and sounds included as possible)

- (Optional) Where is this genre headed? What’s changing currently in this style?

- Full referencing (hyperlinks in text and APA bibliography) must be included to have this LO ticked off as this is a research LO.
