BM111/112-Principles of Broadcasting (Intro to Digital Media Production) (7139)
This class serves as the pre-requisite for all advanced level courses offered in the Homestead Media Department. Students are introduced to the software (Adobe Suite), hardware (audio boards and video switchers) and equipment (video cameras, tripods and microphones) and are encouraged to try their skills in everything. Students are also taught on-air talent mechanics and start their young broadcasting careers by hosting and anchoring on radio station, 91.1 fm.

WHY TAKE THIS CLASS?
This class isn't designed for one specific career pathway as it offers a broad range of introducing Digital Media to students. No matter what, the skills learned in this class like video and audio editing as well as strategic writing and marketing are invaluable skills to have for any career a student chooses.
However, this class does really benefit students who want to pursue a career in broadcasting or marketing.
