Wall of Distinction
Attention Students!
The Wall of Distinction is a new development at Homestead that aims to highlight the accomplishments of the student body in the classroom and beyond the school walls. We want YOU to let us know about all the awesome things you do both in and outside of school! It could be doing a cool research project, serving the community in a unique way, being involved in an arts performance, and so much more! Click the link below to let us know about the awesome ways you are showcasing your talents, and you could be featured here in our monthly newsletter and in our new "Wall of Fame" by the 500's hallways!
Interact Club President Gains Citywide Recognition
Homestead Senior and Interact Club president Kayla Knuth shared information with the Fort Wayne Rotary about the projects Interact Club has completed in the past year. Kayla was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for her continued service to the community through Interact. Her accomplishments are outstanding, and Homestead is proud to foster a community where service to others is a priority!
Congratulations, Kayla!
Spartan Athletic Award
The ultimate athletic award that Homestead athletes can achieve is the Spartan Award. This award is given to athletes who have earned 8 varsity letters, and those who have earned the award receive a custom blanket to commemorate their high athletic achievements! Junior Addison Knoblauch impressively earned her Spartan Award blanket after lettering in every sports season of her high school career thus far (3 seasons in Cross Country, 3 seasons in Swimming, and 2 seasons in Track). Additionally, senior Elise Peckinpaugh won this award after lettering in both Cross Country and Track for 4 years. We look forward to seeing both of these young ladies excel in their athletic and academic pursuits as they continue to compete at the high school and collegiate levels.
Congratulations, Addison & Elise!
Robotics Recognition
Homestead senior Dominic DeLuca is in The Journal Gazette Student Spotlight for his work with the Covington robotics team. Mrs. Hallman nominated this great role model for her fifth-grade students for all his help with the team in the building process and at competitions.
