Admission Policy

Sacred Heart School admits students of any race, sex, color, national or ethnic origin and does not discriminate on these bases.

Order of acceptance is:

1. Children with siblings currently enrolled at Sacred Heart School

2. Children of active members of Sacred Heart parish (active implies Mass attendance and Church support)

3. Children of active members of St. Philip and St. Catherine parishes

4. Families who have recently moved into Sacred Heart, St. Philip and St. Catherine parishes

5. Children of other Catholic parishes

6. Children of non-Catholics

Acceptance Requirements

A student will be accepted after pre-admission testing provided there is room in the class and the child has no academic, emotional, or disciplinary problem that would hinder his/her education at this school.

A kindergarten student must be five years of age by September 1 of the school year and a first grade student must be six years of age.

A child who has transferred from Sacred Heart School will not be considered for re-admission for a period of one full year.

Students transferring from another school will be accepted on a probationary basis for a period of one full year.

Registration

The following must be presented at the time of registration:

  • A Baptismal certificate for all those not baptized at Sacred Heart Church
  • Birth certificate, immunization records, and Social Security number
  • Payment of non-refundable registration fee
  • All health and academic records must be forwarded to Sacred Heart School.

Scholarship Opportunities

Financial Aid

Tuition scholarships are available to qualifying families who apply through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment. If you are applying for financial aid, the deadline to complete an online application for aid from the Neumann Scholarship Foundation is April 1, 2017, and necessary documentation will be required to be submitted to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment by April 15, 2017.

The Diocese of Harrisburg Neumann Scholarship Foundation, funded through Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC), provides assistance to qualifying families. This is for everyone attending Catholic Schools, whether Catholic or non-Catholic. You will be notified by the school, usually around May, as to the amount of your scholarship.

The Catholic Parish Scholarship Program is offered as an option to families who are practicing Catholics and who support the parish by assisting at Mass regularly on Sunday or Saturday evening, share their time, and support the parish.

The Student Support Scholarship program is funded through participation in the scrip and gift card program and anyone who participates in this program may sign up for this scholarship.

What type of payment plans are available?

Option 1: You may choose full tuition payment paid directly to Sacred Heart School by August 1, 2017

Option 2: You may choose monthly tuition payments using the FACTS Management Company beginning in August 2017 and completing payments in May 2018. Monthly payments may be deducted from your checking or savings account through FACTS Management Company. If you choose monthly tuition payments, there are no interest charges, only a family enrollment fee of approximately $30.00. If you were enrolled in the FACTS Tuition Program for the 2016-2017 school year you will be automatically enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year upon payment of the enrollment fee.

Is the school registration fee included in the tuition amount?

The registration fee is separate from the tuition amount and is non-refundable. This fee is the cost of processing and scheduling students. The registration fee for families currently enrolled is $50 per child if paid on or before March 29, 2017. The registration fee is $75.00 if a child, currently enrolled, registers after the deadline. Registration is not considered complete until this fee is paid.
