When children are discovered to have head lice or nits, they are sent home until they are treated. If you discover your child has lice, please let me know, so I check the other children in the class to limit the possible spread in the classroom. When a child returns to school after having lice they must be checked by the nurse before going to class. A second treatment must be done 7-10 days after the first.
Remember:
Do not share combs, hats, or anything that touches the child's head.
Check your child's head regularly.
Nits cling to hair shaft: dandruff flakes off.
Head Lice crawl. they do not fly.
