Attendance and Illness

It is mandatory that your child attend school, and it is important that your child come to school on time. School begins at 8:00 am.

If you know your child will be absent, please call my office at 471-1840 and leave a message. The answering machine is on 24 hours a day so you may call at anytime. You must still send your child in with an absent note on the day he/she returns to school.

ILLNESS

If your child is not feeling well, please evaluate the situation before sending them to school. Please treat all minor injuries that occur at home before sending your child to school.

Do not send your child to school if:

  • The child has vomited in the past 24 hours.

  • The child has diarrhea

  • The child has a temperature above 100.0. They should remain home until they are fever free for 24 hours without any medication.

  • The child has a pink eye and/or discharge from the eye.

  • The child has strep throat or scarlet fever. The child must be on antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • The child has chicken pox. All lesions must be dried and crusted before returning to school.

  • The child has a new rash that has not been evaluated by their doctor.

Remind your child to throw away used tissues , cough into their elbow, keep their hands away from their face , and to wash hands often with soap and warm water. This will help keep all of us healthy!
