Diversity and inclusion has been an important facet of education that has become ameliorated since the Civil Rights Movement. These ideas have often been blended with the ideas of critical race theory, a term that is associated with the criticism of liberalism and is a framework of legal analysis that confirms the idea that law and other legislation is used to progress the White community. After numerous statements and polices of diversity and inclusion were passed by Colorado school districts, community members expressed backlash in fear that these policies were elements of critical race theory. My research aims to verify these claims and address if these claims are valid by analyzing the correlation between Critical race theory and these statements. Through this, my research has the potential to address the community on their concerns and assist school districts in evaluating how closely related their work is to critical race theory.
