π 1 bag of skittles
π 1 paper plate or bowl
π Warm water
π A cup
Procedures!
1. Take your paper plate or bowl and create a circle with your skittles
2. Fill a cup up with warm water
3. Fill your bowl with the warm water until the skittles are covered halfway
4. Wait and watch the colors from the skittles create a beautiful rainbow!
What is Happening to my Skittles?!
The colors from the skittles are pulled away by the water and that's what causes the rainbow.
But Why are the Colors not Mixing?
Your skittles are going through a process called water stratification. What's that?! Well, each skittles color has a different weight and so that's why to colors don't mix!
Watch our demonstration below to see how to do the experiment!!
