"Privilege" by Alexis

My art piece consists of tape, paper, and lego bricks. Each brick represents a building. It is like this so I can represent living on a farm (or being poor) or living in a city (or being rich). It is meant to tell people to not take things for granted and to appreciate what you have. When making this artwork I learned that taking suggestions and getting or asking for help are okay.

It brings out the season because it is trees in all the seasons and that they grow and they have detail. And the spring one looks nice with pink flowers. My art is not really inspired by anyone I know, I just inspired it myself or one of my kindergarten teachers, I’m just not sure. My goal was to make it look real and nice, and have a good effect to my art like Charlie Brown in the fall one. You need to make a ruff draft, and colour it in nicely make the branch taller each season.

"2 Sides" by Safira

My art piece is a animated girl with a line splitting her face in half. One half has words that make your thoughts go positive and think that maybe it’s all good. The other side on the other hand is negative,and the words make it feel like it’s turned all their backs on you. Her hair is brown tucked behind her shoulders. The subject is how the same person can have different moods and personalities that may change over time. My title is 2 sides. I started with one half with words that said great or awesome or something else encouraging. After I wrote the words I drew her with a happy face smiling. The other words I wrote on the other side are words that aren’t very nice to be honest like disgust and other not very nice words. Afterward i drew the half of the half of the face scowling. What inspired me with my art is a person's personality and how their emotions can be so different. My art expresses that a person's feelings can be so different and that actions can be caused by feelings,not looks. It expresses how the personality is the answer for actions for example, a person has a lot of piercings can be so soft on the inside. That's just his/her personality. I think the emotions I showed were anger,frustration,awe and shock in a good way. I wanted to make this piece because I thought that it would be fun for the actual process of making the plan and making the art. My goal was to understand not to underestimate a person's personality by their looks. I think that this piece reached my goals because I thought strongly during this art piece about what I wanted to mean and express. What I learned was not to judge a book by it’s cover. I like the finished product. It is very like what I imagined. I wanted a cartoon like girl and I think my art matches what I had in mind for sure. It will impact my future artwork by thinking about how different types of people will react to it in a way.

"Earth" by Kenny

My art is about a mix of nature and love there are mountains rivers even leaves. The subject of my art is about earth, nature and love. The title of my work is “Earth”, I choose that name because i wanted a simple name. It is a doodle type of artwork. My artwork is made of markers, pencil (those were the 2 I used the most). I used markers, a pencil, an eraser and 2 piece’s of paper. The earth inspired me to make this art. I am trying to express a social issue, and that issue is about us not taking care of the earth good enough, I feel like I have to express this issue because without the earth where would we be? Would we even exist? The emotion I was trying to add in there is love, because I want people to know to Love the earth. I wanted to try a new type of doodle because I have never done this NEW type of artwork before. I think it helped my goals because I think people can have a good understanding of my art. I learned that i’m enjoying drawing again and i’m more patient now. I never imagined what my final piece would look like, I just let me do what i think was good to add in. I think my art will influence more people to take care of the earth.

My artwork is a sketch with some finger blending. The subject for my art is Animals and I titled it “Strength”. This is a drawing of a wolf. I used a pencil, large white cardboard paper, and black and blue charcoal crayons. I then used my thumb and finger and rubbed it on top of the lines to give the sketch a more blended and soft look. If you look closely at it the sketch his nose has texture. My family is the inspiration for my drawing and my love for wolves. I think the wolf is a strong and smart animal and when they are in a pack they work together and look after each other. This is how I feel about my family, we always take care of each other. I want my drawing to show that the wolf is strong, mysterious and it shows guidance. I have tried drawing a wolf before and it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. I wanted to try drawing it again to see if I could do better. I proved to myself that I can draw and do a good job when I take my time and have patience. I learned that I can do anything if I focus and really want to do it. My drawing is almost the way I thought it would be, I wanted more details on the face but that was tough to do, but I am still very happy with my sketch. I would like to draw more because I was able to finish the wolf and it turned out really nice.

"Colourful Lady" by Devi

The subject of my artwork is Summer and the title is “Colourful Lady”. My artwork is a painting. I used a large white piece of cardboard paper, pencil, acrylic paint, regular paint, metallic paint, water and a paintbrush. I was inspired to paint a ladybug by my dad and brother, because we used to go looking for them in the Summer, when we spent time together outside. My artwork doesn’t express any issues, I just wanted to paint it. I used blue and black for the ladybug because I wanted it to look different and to stand out. I painted around the ladybug because I wanted it to be colourful and bright and when people look at it, I hope it makes them smile and feel happy because that is how it makes me feel. I wanted to do a painting to see if I could actually do it. I stayed inside the lines and I was able to draw a ladybug and make it look real. I feel I reached my goal because the colours all around look good and the ladybug looks really nice. I learned that I can draw and paint if I take my time and do the best that I can. I feel the painting is not exactly the way I pictured it, the colourful background is something that just happened when I started painting and I am glad I decided to do it this way. The painting turned out better than I had imagined it would be. I know if I want to do more drawing and painting, I will be able to do it.

"Video Game World" by Ekam

My artwork is a Video Game Controller. Its name is Video Game World. The reason why its a video game controller is because I love video games and play them everyday. The controller I made is based off of a Ps4 controller. I Used A Black marker to sketch the outside out then used markers for the buttons. I made the video game controller because I love video games. My goal was to make it as identical as I can to a Ps4 controller. I mean I like How it turned out I feel like I could have made it better my colouring it black in the inside.

"Follow Your Dreams" by Eesha

My title is Follow Your Dreams. The subject of my art is believe in anything. If you don't see, my painting is a 2 way painting you can either see someone sitting on the sand praying to the sun or a mermaid swimming up to see the sunrise/sunset. To make the sunset the trick is to move quickly but neatly so to keep it neat I put tape around the borders it looks better either way(also you will be satisfied when you peel the tape off).To put the letters on I printed out a picture of the words “Follow Your Dream” then cut out all the words then painted over it.Mine doesn't really have a problem and I like the sea and sunsets so I made both. I like art it calms me especially when I have a show in the background that I can listen to and every now and then watch a bit of it like when I'm trying to wait for something to dry. I wanted a mermaid silhouette sitting on The rock staring at the sun. This isn't exactly how i imagined how it would be as i said and you saw i didn't really make it but now I'm actually A LOT more happy because it turned out to be a two way picture.

"Fun with Family" by Noah

My artwork is a paint/mixture of colours like green black orange pink and blond, there are green and black stripes making a couch, there is a black TV. My subject matter is family game time. The title is “Fun with Family” I used paints and paper for the media of my painting, I used watercolour paints tape and paper. I was inspired by nobody. My goal as an artist in making this was to get better at painting. I got more experience painting and learned what colours make what colours. I learned in creating this artwork I am not great at painting but I am ok. The final piece is what I imagined. I imagined that I would make an ok painting of me and my dad playing video games. This will influence my future artworks by giving my more practice in painting.

My art is from a popular game called fortnite. I sketched out the art and then I used my pencil and made the lines darker. I got inspired by fortnite battle royale, I also want to be a professional. I don’t do this art because I don’t really like to focus on two things instead of 1. I have patience to do this art too.

"Colourful Pizza" by Lochlan

The title of my work is Colourful Pizza and the subject matter of my art is pizza. I wanted my art to be really colourful. I created my art on a computer using a cool program called Affinity Designer. I wanted my work to say it’s ok to have a treat every once in awhile. My goals were to make my picture colourful and make it look like Andy Warhol's Tomato Soup Can print. I chose Andy Warhol’s print because it inspired me to put more colour in my art. I learned that I really like colourful pictures.

My art is called "They eye". I love dragons. It is extinct. It is a mystical being. My imagination inspired me. My goals were that it would be a dragon. It is what I imagined. I used paper, pencil crayons, and pencil. It will help my future art. I learned that the more you practice the better you get.

I sewed fabric around cotton. I was inspired to make this because I started watching a show called next in fashion and they inspired me to make this. I made it for my cousin who will be born in a few weeks. I want it to show love. The goal was to make a pillow for my baby cousin. I like it because I worked hard and you can see that in it.

My art would look like a back view but in the rain. I created my art using a pencil for sketching, some markers for the coloring, and the pen for the lineart. The drawing might look like a painting, but drawing is my hobby. It was inspired from one of Draw So Cute’s drawing tutorials, but also inspired by another painting that I saw at Homesense a year ago. There are some emotions in the drawing too, and it’s “friendship”. I learned “that everyone can share and make friends. It’s also an important thing too.

My artwork is called the musical piano.my artwork is a sketched picture of a piano and musical notes.the subject matter of my art is a piano.I created my art by getting a canvas and drawing with a pencil on top.I was inspired by my music teacher to make the piano. My goals for this artwork were to have real music notes in it and a grand piano that almost takes up the hole page.My artwork almost turned out how i would imagine it to be but there was some smudges on the art.This art will influence my future artworks by making my future artworks of instruments.

"Dirty Waters" by Evy

The name of my painting is called “Dirty Waters”. It is about ocean pollution and represents how pollution is affecting ocean life. The art was drawn in pencil and outlined in black marker. Using watercolour, I painted the sea water blue and aqua to show clean and dirty water. I coloured items with markers and also used plastic wrap and tin foil to show the garbage. My inspiration came from another painting which had a sea turtle with coral on its shell. I thought it was pretty and wanted to do something like it. My painting expresses what the ocean is going through right now. There are lots of garbage in the ocean and it affects everyone.

My art work is about the world. It shows peace, love, unity and family. I used a board and painted it all white, I then got all my paint and chose what colors I wanted to use. I wrote the words with pencil before I painted over them. My art work is about people standing together. It shows love, peace and unity and people sticking together. I wanted people to see the message in my art and understand what it is about. I reached my goal because it says alot about what I wish the world would look like. I learned it takes alot of thinking and coming up with ideas on my own. My art turned out how I wanted and now i know it will be easier to come up with ideas on my own for my next art project.

My art is called Save The Earth. I made as a mixed media because it seems more earthy. I chose it because people are always polluting the earth and we are not stopping. I tried to show the earth on one side being happy with trees and the other side crying and polluted. I tried to make my message to stop polluting the earth. I had never done a mixed media.

"Save the Squirtle" by Beo

My artwork is a pokemon character called Squirtle which looks like a turtle with a squirrel tail. The title of my work is ‘Save the Squirtles”. Squirtle is a turtle, so it is kind of funny to save squirtles instead of turtles. This idea came from saving the turtles, because they are endangered. They are eating the garbage that is everywhere in the ocean. It’s bad because the turtle can die. I found a video on google that showed me how to draw Squirtle and I drew it on a t-shirt with markers. My goal was to try shading in my drawing, because I never use it. I love what it was turned out and now I love the shirt.

My artwork has a lot of different colors with four game controllers that are all different colors. My art is a drawing. The subject of my art is video games. The title of my art is “Not Soup”. It's a drawing. It's made of crayon and pencil. First I used a pencil to sketch the controllers and then I colored it in with crayons and pencil crayons. Andy Warhol inspired my work. My work doesn't express any issues. I tried to show happiness in my art. My goal was to do the best piece of art I have ever done. Of course I reached my goal! That was the neatest drawing I have ever done! Well I was creating my art I learned that you should try everything even if you don't like it. This is totally what I imagined, I was going for tons of color and I definitely got that going. This will affect my future art because I can see that if you take your time your art will turn out better.

The person who inspired me to make my art this way was my mom because she knew my favorite animal was a wolf and we found a picture that i really liked and i thought it was meaningful so i decided to draw it. My art does not express any personal or social issue. The emotions my art is showing is love. My art looks like some wolves howling to tell everyone the share love all around the world. It has straight and curvy lines the shape in the body,the mouth and the head. The subject of my art is spread love everywhere.the title of my art is love is in the air. My goal for this art piece was to make it as realistic as possible and to make it look neat. It helped me reach my goal by testing my art skills by seeing how real my drawing skills looked. My art is a sketch and to make it i had to shaded it with a pencil. I used a pencil on a paper and i used an eraser so that if i mess up i can erase it. I learned how important love really is. Yes this is how i imagined my art piece to turn out because the wolves fit perfectly into place and and i feel the ears are perfect. This art piece will influence my future art piece’s by showing i can make this neat and perfect!

"Glories of Space" by Sabryna

My artwork is a earth and a small moon at the top right and a small satilite dish in bottem right. It has small asteroids and sparkly blue and purple dots as stars the earth has a dark blue ring around it the represent the atmosphere. And another black ring to represents the darkness of space when a rocket ship is sent off. First I sketched everything in my sketchbook with my pencil. Then I made the perfect circle by tracing a medium plastic bowl from my kitchen. And then I made the moon with a plastic cup than i made a satellite from my space book then I coloured it in with coloured pencils. My big idea is to have this message the earth is a gift and we should take care of it to take care of god and mother nature and treasure it and be thankful. My goal was to make / try something new other than houses and animals and mix something.. I thought it was pretty cool but one thing I could have changed was using different colours in my earth but overall I am pretty happy.
