"Nature's Gift" by Ensha

My artwork is a seascape, it is a mixed media art piece. I used acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolour paint, metallic paint, a black canvas, glitter and a round stencil to create my painting. The subject of my art is nature! I wanted to paint a seascape with a smog-free, detailed, bright starry sky and a colorful blue ocean that is not polluted or filled with trash. I painted a single boat in the water to show that a less crowded ocean can reduce pollution. The title of my work is “Nature’s Gift” because clean ocean water and clean air is becoming very rare, so people should take better care of this gift! My artwork was inspired by a lot of things like the earth, nature and my vacation to Isla Mujeras but it was mostly inspired by the ocean cleanup unit Miss. Martin taught us in school. The emotions that I am trying to show in my painting are happiness, calmness and conservation. My goal as an artist was to make my painting meaningful and beautiful at the same time, which was really hard when I first started. I learned that you can accomplish anything that you put your mind to, and that it is also ok to make mistakes in art because they can turn out to make the painting better. The final painting turned out to be unexpected because I had a different plan before but then I just painted what I felt like and this turned out better. This piece will influence my future art because I don’t think I will ever plan my paintings again. I will just be wild and paint whatever I am feeling like because that’s way more fun and creative!

"Paint the World" by Zayan

I chose to do a combination of drawing and a sculpture. The rainbow colors of the paintbrush represent joy and happiness just like a rainbow would. The handle of the paintbrush is drawn on there. All the melted crayons for the brushstrokes are colourful. When you look at my art work you will feel happy and ready to pick up my paintbrush and paint your life with fun and joyful things. I learned that not all artists can be good at art but some are pretty good. I'm glad how my art piece is going to look like. I think it will influence my artwork because it was my first ever good drawing and sculpture. My parents inspired me to do this artwork. My artwork express kindness around the world that is why my artwork is called Paint The World. My emotions for ,my artwork is obviously kindness and love.

"Magnificent" by Reese

My artwork came from the heart. First, I used pencil to draw the art. Then I coloured it with pencil crayons while trying to keep the lines straight. My art is about bringing peace to the world. I love drawing flowers, and this is what inspired me for this project. It represents the Covid-19 problem that is happening right now. My art is encouraging people to stay home so they can stay safe and so that the world can recover. My goal for this piece was to show a strong message. I am happy with how my flower turned out, but the size of the petals on the outside aren’t the way that I planned them. I learned to try and not give up, and that if you take your time you can do it!

"Health is Wealth" by Gurveen

The subject of my art is the corona-virus. It is an image of one person that is protected from the germs because she has a mask and the other guy has no mask so he is sick. When I was making my art I drew with a pencil and colored with twistables. I also wrote the date and my name in the right hand corner. My big idea is the coronavirus. The message is “Protect yourself protect others”. My goal for my artwork was to show others how to stay safe when outside. I learned that i am better at drawing than i thought. It will influence my next artworks by showing me inspiration.

"Nature's Beauty" by Avishkar

I love art because I can express myself on paper. The earth is a beautiful place and it is our one and only home. Nature is amazing. We get peace by sharing it's beauty. The mountains and forests are home to animals and birds. People also enjoy the view and find happiness. The ponds and lakes are full of life so please do not destroy what we have. Take care of our environment. Live and let live.

"Eat Healthy" by Imaan

In my art work I used different types of art forms, like bubble words, printed pictures, coloring and painting. My art work is a mixed media work, there are pencil-colored printed pictures glued on top of a painted canvas. The subject of my art project is about eating healthy. The title of my work is “Eat Healthy”. My art work has been made on a canvas. It has been made with arcylic paints and printed pictures of fruits, vegetables and arm muscles. First I painted all of my canvas with spun gold arcylic paint. Next I painted my bubble word message using peacock blue acrylic paint. Then I printed black and white images of fruits, vegetables and muscle arms. After they were printed I used a scissor to cut them out and colored them using pencil crayons. Next I glued my colored fruits, vegetables and muscle arms onto my canavs using a glue gun. Finally I painted apple trees and blue berry bushes on the bottom edges of my canvas using hunter green, cinnamon brown, deep red and peacock blue arcylic paints. I got inspired to make this art work because of my mom and my teacher. They both have told me the importance of eating healthy because its a important part of being a balanced learner and staying fit. I feel like my work is about a social issue because these days people eat more junk food than eating healthy food. It is important that people choose to eat more healthy food everyday. I tried to make my art work have a positive emotion that would inspire people to eat healthy. My goal was to make an art piece that had a clear and motivational message for others to follow. I think my art piece has reached my goal, since it has a clear message about eating healthy. I have learned that if you make a plan and follow it, you can achieve your goals. My final art piece is how I imagined it to be because it has a clear message and it has been made with different mixed media works. This art piece will motivate me to make more art work that is unique and has important messages for people to follow.

"Caring and Playful" by Christina

I drew a picture of a magical creature, which is a cat and butterfly mixed. The name of this creature is Catterfly. I painted the picture using various paints and colors. Cats remind me of playfulness and butterflies are gentle and you have to care for them. Catterfly is waving to you basically inviting you to come and play while taking care of each other. I wanted to show that when you are caring and playful you can help others feel good.

Origami Zoo by Spencer

My art project is an origami zoo that has butterflies, fish, a bunny, sharks, trees, cranes, and crabs. It is made out of colourful paper and chopsticks that I used to hold up the cranes and butterflies. I was creative about all of the stuff that I know and making origami animals. I created my art by folding origami papers and watching different people make these origamis in videos. We glued the chopsticks down to the board. My mom and my dad inspired me to make this origami zoo. When you look at my art piece you should think “don’t give up” because if I can make that origami zoo, then you can make your own work. I want people to feel happy and great when they see my art. My goal was to make challenging origami. I think that I achieved my goal! I think that next time I make an art piece I will be less stressed and not give up.

I created my art with a canvas, and I used two types of paint acrylic paint, and tempera. I was thinking of doing splatter art but I had so many ideas in my mind and at the last minute I decided to paint three colors, with something inspirational, and added glitter, gems and some flowers from my garden, I took flowers apart and put the petals on my canvas with modge podge. The materials that I am using shows the statement of me. I like sparkly things and I also like nature, that is why I named my art “HOME GROWN”. No one inspired me with this artwork. I forgot what its called and I'm gonna colour lots of on the paper and everything. My goal is to improve my art work. I learned that this art is pretty important to the thing I did. Colours are important but the work our wonderful amazing Ms. Martin made up along with amazing Mr. Pella and amazing Mrs.Wambura is important too. I learned to always be powerful and never ever give up.

My art is a painting of a tree on a hill. I chose this because I like to go outside and play and to keep good care of nature. I used sponge art to make the tree look more realistic. I am showing that if we keep the world clean we can have a wonderful world . My panting is call natures way of cleaning the air. I just started painting and then I went to dollarama to get a canvas to paint on and got some sponges so I could get the tree to look more realistic. Then I waited for it to dry so I could make the sun so it looked like it was over top of the tree. My sister made a painting of a tree and I liked it so I started to paint my own tree but instead of painting it all I did some sponge art. My works social issue is to keep the environment clean. I'm trying to show that we need to care more about the environment. I'm proud of this project and it looks like i imagined it. I wasn't going to do sponge art but my mom said that will give it a special effect so that is why I did sponge art.
