Week of September 1st ▪️ Vol: XIX Issue: 1

• WELCOME: To the weekly Russ Record. The RR is a weekly snapshot to help keep parents in the loop. The RR will be emailed out every Sunday and will highlight upcoming activities and learning engagements. Please check your junk mail this weekend to ensure you are receiving the emails.

• Staggered Entry:

  • Wednesday September 2nd – Students with last names starting with A to L are to attend on this day

  • Thursday September 3rd – Students with last names starting with M to Z are to attend on this day

• Let’s Get Acquainted Form: Please do your best to complete and return the form.  The information provided will help me to develop stronger personal relationships and educational experiences for the students.

• Student Teacher: We are very excited to have Mrs. Hawach from Ambrose University join us for his practicum. She will be with us for 4 weeks this September and then another 6 weeks in January and February.  

• Public Speaking: our first public speaking activity will be a Show & Tell.  Students will be presenting their items September 21st-25th.

• First Day of Fall Picnic: We will be eating our lunch outside on Tuesday, September 22nd and enjoying the first day of fall. Bring a picnic blanket or towel to sit on.

• School Supplies: The school supplies students with most of the learning tools required.  We ask students to bring the following items:

  • • • Indoor shoes (suitable for gym.)

      • Water bottle

      • Headphones (labelled and in a bag)

      • Small, soft sided (fabric) pencil case.

• 4R Wish List: If you would be willing to donate towards our classroom wish list, your contribution will be very much appreciated.

  • • • Single use spoons

      • Lysol wipes

      • Emergency chocolate for teachers 

      • Kleenex 

• Big Bison: Each week, one student who exemplifies one of our PBIS traits will be recognized as the Big Bison and take our class mascot for an adventure. Learn more about our class mascot HERE! 

• Problem of the Week: Is done for the year! Thank you to everyone who participated.

• Student Activities: I love supporting students and seeing them shine in their activities outside of school! If you’d like me to attend, please email me the dates and times, and I will do my best to come and cheer them on.

Each week, one student who exemplifies one of our PBIS traits will be recognized as the Big Bison.

The BB will also take home of our class mascot for the week.  The soon to be named “creature” is excited to visit everyone.  Students are encouraged to send in pictures of what they did with the critter!  On Monday, the student will return the critter and tell stories of their adventures.
