Grade 11 marks are important! Some universities will admit students using Grade 11 marks. Since diploma marks are not available until February (semester 1) and July (semester 2), universities extend conditional offers based on Grade 11 and any completed Grade 12 marks. Grade 11 marks are also often used for scholarship qualification.

DID YOU KNOW?

Social 30-2 is NOT accepted by all post-secondaries for admission. If a student takes extra science, they may not need Social 30-1; however, make sure to check the admission requirements of your desired post-secondary program before dropping to dash 2.

DID YOU KNOW?

Very few post-secondaries will accept ELA 30-2. Students in dash 2 English are able to upgrade through the high school but must make a plan to assure space in a dash 1 class. Please make an appointment to find out more.

Applying to university early can give you an advantage. If you apply early with high marks, you can get an early offer of admission. If your marks are not high enough to be admitted early, universities will continue to evaluate your Grade 12 marks several times throughout the admission process. So, APPLY EARLY! APPLY NOW!

DID YOU KNOW?

Once you have applied to a university and are given an ID#, you can apply for scholarships. You do not need to wait for an offer of admission. This can help you evaluate various scholarship offers before deciding what university you choose. You may choose to go the university with the best scholarship offer. REMEMBER: The deadline for some scholarships is as early as December 1^st, so apply early.

DID YOU KNOW?

PE 30 IS accepted by several post-secondaries for admission. A student may improve their overall competitive average if they do well in PE 30. Check admission requirements of desired program(s).

DID YOU KNOW?

Science 30 is widely accepted for several Post-Secondary programs. Students may be able to increase their competitive average and qualify for admission and scholarships if they opt to take Science 30 rather than Bio 30, Physics 30 or Chem 30. Check your desired post-secondary program to determine what science you will need.

DID YOU KNOW?

Rockyview Learning Centres (located in Cochrane, Airdrie and Chestermere) offer free upgrading for students until the September 1 that they are 20 years old. They also host the diploma exams five times throughout the year.

Current Students need a referral from the guidance counsellor.

DID YOU KNOW?

Some universities allow you to apply, get accepted and then defer entry into a program for one year. To do this, you will have to pay the initial deposit to secure your spot and complete deferral paperwork and have it approved.
