AP Italian IV is a college level course that follows the advanced placement themes: Global Challenges, Science and Technology, Contemporary Life, Personal and Public Identities, Families and Communities, and Beauty and Aesthetics. This course is conducted entirely in the target language. Students will expand their ability to communicate effectively through the three modes of communication, (Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational) which will allow for development in all four areas of language. This course is the culmination of several years of study and seeks to develop and refine skills that have been acquired over a student’s school career. In addition, the students will continue the exploration of the language through cultural comparisons and appreciation. This AP course is designed to provide intensive preparation for the Advanced Placement examination, which students are encouraged to take. Students can also obtain credits through the College Accelerated Program (CAP). Upon successful completion of this course, students will attain an ACTFL proficiency level of advanced low.
