Italian I will introduce novice students to the basic skills of the language: listening, speaking, reading, writing, as well as cultural awareness and appreciation. The use of the Italian language in practical situations will be emphasized along with a gradually advancing study of grammatical concepts. Cultural topics will include several major Italian cities, classroom objects, descriptions of people, city locations, school subjects, and foods. Upon successful completion of this course, students will attain an ACTFL proficiency level of novice mid.
