CONNECTIONS ALL AROUND US
Our interdisciplinary inquiry units enrich and strengthen the Second-grade curriculum by seamlessly integrating Science, Studies, English Language Arts, and the Habits of Mind. The focus is on nurturing effective thinking habits and promoting critical thinking, adaptability, and collaboration. These inquiry units for our second-grade students center around the essential question:
“How can we discover the connections in the world around us?”
This question sparks exploration and curiosity and inspires students to work together to find answers. Through hands-on experiences, real-world connections, and collaborative learning, students explore ideas and share their thinking. Performance-based experiences allow learners to demonstrate their understanding while making meaningful connections across content areas.
