Ronnie Battle, Head Coach

Coach Ronnie Battle graduated from Chavala High School in 1988. He played basketball at Auburn University and was a four year starter and an All-SEC Performer three of the four years. He currently holds the season record for three point percentage. After playing at Auburn, he went on to play semi-pro basketball overseas in Europe for seven years. He has been coaching high school basketball for 12 years as well as serving as an assistant coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College for four years.

Kenneth Lawrence, Assistant Coach

Coach Kenneth Lawrence was born to the late James and Ozemma Lawrence. He is a native of Columbus, GA where he was a basketball standout at Jordan Vocational High School. Coach Lawrence signed a basketball scholarship to Martin Community College (TN) and later Athens State College (AL) where he received an associates and two bachelors degrees respectively. Lawrence later earned his masters from Troy State University. Coach Lawrence has coached boys' basketball for 28 years. Most notably, he was the head coach at Northside High School (Columbus, GA) for the first 15 years of the program’s history. He took his team to the 2013 GHSA 5A Final Four and compiled 244 career wins. In July of 2022, Coach Lawrence retired from Georgia public schools after 19 years of service. He returned to Alabama to teach physical education at Russell County Middle which begins his 10th year in education in Alabama. He taught previously at Central and South Girard in Phenix City. Coach Lawrence is married to Marilyn Lawrence, his wife of 37 years. The couple have two children: Dr. Stefan Lawrence and Dr. Chelsea Lawrence. Coach Lawrence’s hobbies include watching sports, eating oysters, and watching movies.
