Student Testimonials

"The Health Services Pathway is truly amazing. It may seem confusing at first but by the time you leave Washington Park as a senior you will have gained a deeper knowledge of what you have learned. Since I joined this pathway I was given the opportunity to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Seeing the smile on my residents' faces when I am at work is absolutely amazing. It's an awesome opportunity helping people and sharing a special bond that only you two have. I can say that without a doubt this pathway has hugely impacted my life in a positive way and it's the coolest by far. "

"The Elementary Education Pathway has helped me in many ways. I have new friends and got to know a lot of people I never would have talked to. Also, it helped me realize that I want to be a teacher and help keep real education alive. I want to change someone's life like the teacher in my pathway changed mine."

"My journey with the pathways has opened a lot of doors for me. As a dual pathway student (Early Childhood Education and Health Services), I've obtained many certifications such as Shaken Baby Syndrome and Assistant Teacher Certification. I've been introduced to many health professions and joined the Health Youth Apprenticeship program earning my Certified Nursing Assistant license. I've been working as a CNA for a year now. I am also a member of HOSA and hold a state officer role of State Project Coordinator. I aspire to be a Neo-Natal Nurse when I graduate. By being a part of both pathways I get experience with babies and health careers."
