Update your weekly parent correspondence with the times you will have your Google Meets - inform parents that all Google Meets, for privacy and security reasons, require students to be logged into the meet more securely.

Use a special naming convention (word in font of name) to log into a Meet.
When signing into a Google Meet without an RTMSD account there is a prompt for the student to enter a name. Create a special naming convention or word for students to use to gain admittance to the Meet: All students should type 'Dinos' after their first name. Example: John Dinos
Give your parents a choice between Options 1 and 2. Have the families choose between using the RTMSD Google Logins or a special class naming convention.
5 minutes before the Meeting is supposed to go live - Go to meet.google.com
"Click "Join or Start a Meeting"
Enter a Unique Meeting Name. Example: "MrSmithsLions" (Students will not have to know or enter this name)
Click "Continue"
On new page click "Join now" - This starts the meeting and opens it up
Copy the URL link to this meeting. Example "meet.google.com/xxx-xxxx-xxx"
Go to Seesaw or email to post the link
In Seesaw - Create an Announcement and add the link for students to see. Or Email link to parent emails.

Our class is using Google Meets to collaborate as a group. For an extra layer of security we will use our RTMSD Google logins to enter the Meets.
Student logins are made up of the student's last name and first initial before @rtmsd.org.
For example, John Smith would be smithj@rtmsd.org.
RTMSD Google passwords are "Rtm-" followed by the student's 5 digit lunch code. Please note: that the password has an upper-case “R” and lowercase “tm” with no spaces.
For example "Rtm-12345)
or option 2

Example Cindy Jellyfish
