Students were asked to look at the work of Albert Chamillard who is featured her in the Colossal Magasine. Using lined paper (or not) and a pen (or pencil) they were asked to use geometric shapes and cross hatching to create works that had value and dimension by virtue of the tones they created and how the forms sat on the page ie the compositional layout.
