Since its founding, Bay Chamber has been encouraging people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to make music together. At concerts and in the classroom, one-on-one and in groups, Bay Chamber is committed to providing avenues for exploring a rich variety of musical genres and languages.
The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) advances contemporary art in Maine through direct engagement with artists and the public, creating exceptional exhibitions and programs that communicate the transformative power of the art of our time.
With more than 20,000 square feet of gallery space and more than 15,000 works in the collection, there is always something new on view at the Farnsworth. The museum has one of the nation’s largest collections of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson. Its Wyeth Center features works by Andrew, N.C., and Jamie Wyeth. The Farnsworth’s library is also housed in its Rockland, Maine, campus. MCMA is more than a music school; it is a community that encourages people young and old to find and embrace who they are by learning an instrument, developing their own voice on that instrument, and then sharing their voice through performance.
We combine a classical music education with a contemporary approach to provide high quality music instruction to students of all ages and skill levels in a fun, relaxed, and creative environment. Our dedicated faculty provide outstanding instruction and creative mentoring to our students, building confidence and helping students feel connected to the whole MCMA community.
The Strand Theatre is a multi-use venue offering the best of current first-run and independent films, live musical concerts and comedy, simulcasts, educational programs, conferences, and other special events on our stage and screen.
