This week, the goal of our Library Activity is to document some aspect of this time of school closure with a museum exhibit. Start by picking an object that has meant a lot to you these last two months - for example: your scooter, a game, a kitchen tool, etc.
Ready to do the activity?
Step 1: Watch Video: The video explains how to create your museum exhibit, including research tips. (< 5 minutes).
Step 2: Create your exhibit label. You can use Google Slides, or create it by hand (like my example above). For research, I like to use the Digital Maine Library, but you can use any source you trust. Just be sure to include the name of your source in your label.
Step 3: Padlet: Share an image of your exhibit on our Museum Padlet and check out other students' exhibits!
This week, the goal of our Library Activity is to use filters to search and find books on Epic!
This week's activity will help you find new books and share what YOU like to read with us!
Ready to do the activity?
Step 1: Watch Video: How to search and filter on Epic! to find a just right book.
Step 2: Search Epic! for a just right book! (Use Library Code MQR-4425 if you don't have a class code.)
Step 3: Padlet: Share a book you found on the Epic! Padlet! Remember these Chrome short cuts - CTRL - C (Copy) and CTRL + V (Paste).
This week, the goal of our Library Activity is to explore Epic!, Ms. Barker's favorite way of reading books online these days. There are SO many great books and so many ways to search for and read them.
This week's activity will help you learn more about this amazing resource, find new books and share what YOU like to read with us! Click here to watch a video of Ms. Barker explaining how to do the activity.
Ready to do the activity?
Click here to "go to the library" and explore! There are 4 different tables with Epic books. Your challenge: decide which is your favorite table - the one you would like to read at! If you don't have a class Epic code, use the Library's: MQR-4425.
Go to this Padlet and tell us your favorite table and why. You can also post about other great books you have found on Epic!
Read, read, read!
Last week, on Friday and Saturday, kids' book authors and illustrators came together for a FREE two-day virtual book festival, Everywhere Book Fest. All of the sessions are available to view on the Festival YouTube Channel!
This week, I am asking you to share your voice on Flipgrid and read all or part of a poem, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth. At the end of the week, I will make one BIG video, with clips from each of your videos. Won't that be amazing to see and hear all of FMS sharing this hopeful message about spring? Have your pet or family member/s join you in your recording!
