I have been a social studies teacher at RAHS since 2009, and my family is glad to call Reedsburg home! I grew up in La Crosse and graduated with comprehensive honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a B.A. in history and political science. During my junior year, I spent a semester studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, which inspired me to travel and learn more about the world.
After college, I taught English abroad for two years on the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program. I discovered that I loved teaching young people, and when I returned home, I attended Viterbo University in La Crosse to earn my social studies teaching license. After coming to Reedsburg, I later received my Masters of Arts in Education degree from Viterbo in 2012.
In summer 2014, I led a group of RAHS students on an educational trip to Italy and Greece, and that fall, I received the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1916 Citizenship Education Award. I also hosted teachers from Germany and Thailand for several weeks during the 2014-15 school year and observed and taught in classrooms in Germany the following summer. In 2019, I received Reedsburg's Excellence in Teaching Award (Grades 9-12), and in 2020 I passed the Google Certified Educator exam.
I was the RAHS Student Council Head Advisor for the first 14 years of my career. In 2015, I received the Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) Region VI Advisor of the Year Award. In 2023, I began advising the new RAHS Model UN team. Outside of RAHS, you might see me walking my dog, bicycling with my family, or playing trombone with the Reedsburg Community Band. Reedsburg is a fantastic community, and it is an honor to serve it every day at RAHS!
