4th Quarter
During 4th quarter, the students will be building CO2 cars. They will complete a 4-view drawing of their car design and use this as a guide while they cut, sand, or grind the balsa block into their creation. Once the students have finished shaping their car, they will bring the car home to paint it. I recommend using a high gloss spray paint for the main body of the car. A small paint brush or paint marker can be used for the windows, lights, or other graphics.
Near the end of 4th quarter, we will have a car show in the display cabinets in the entry of Webb Middle. Students can enter their car or drawing. We will also take a day and race the cars on a drag strip that will be set up in the tech. ed. room.
