Students in Visual Arts are encouraged to design and create projects that develop their skill, technique and creativity.
Courses offered within this area include a myriad of studio experiences such as drawing, painting (watercolour, acrylic and oil), sculpture (including ceramic, plaster, wire, mixed media etc), printmaking (linoblock, collography, drypoint etching, monoprint), and art theory, history and criticism.
Mural making and set design construction (painting of drops and set pieces) are also activities you will frequently see in our visual arts rooms. As well, we offer courses in textile and fashion design, advanced fashion and jewellery design, and photography (film and darkroom, and digital) to enrich our students learning opportunities. Our new facilities provide two fully equipped art rooms, a photography room with a darkroom, as well as a nearby teaching area.
If you are interested in joining our Visual Arts program, please complete the arts education application form. Our arts education coordinator, will reach out to you as soon as possible.
